Unblocking a waste pipe can be time consuming.

Often blockages are caused by a build up of food waste, fats and oils. A recent blockage was caused by a collection of cocktail sticks. They collected on a bend in the pipe causing the build up of other debris to form the blockage. This can lead to a slow draining sink or even a fully blocked sink that does not drain at all. Either way it can become smelly, especially in the hotter weather.

The drain auger is a spring that spins around the pipe when the handle is rotated. This forces any build up of debris to drop from the pipe. When it reaches the blockage the spring end is forced into the debris and clearing the blockage. Please remember before applying acid, consider what if the drain does not clear. The plumber then has to deal with a blocked drain and the danger of an acid burn.
