Flexible pipe.
When DIY goes wrong.
Being called out to the older properties with low pressure hot water and high pressure cold water, requires a different approach to the modern day houses with equal high pressure. The water supply was to a modern day basin mixer and the complaint was that the hot water pressure wasn’t good. On checking in the vanity the problem was quite clear. The back nuts for the fexi pipe have been tightened without consideration that the flexible pipe turns and kinks unless done correctly. The kink has flattened the pipe causing the low pressure hot water supply to dribble from the tap. The PTFE thread tape on the brass fitting is not required, it isn’t the thread that seals the join. These are sealed by a washer inside the back nut. After replacing the flexi the flow rate of the tap was considerably improved.
If your not sure don’t chance it, this could easily have split the flexi causing a leak. Give me a call. Meeting your plumbing needs.
