Leaking Hot Water Cylinder.

This leaking hot water cylinder wasn’t discovered until the towels were found wet.

As a routine I check the pipe work below and around the cylinder to make sure everything is intact. I also check the top connections, if they are leaking they track down through the outer casing before showing at the bottom, something to do with gravity! Once I have established that there are no leaks from the outside and after turning the power off. I remove the element cover to check that the element isn’t leaking. This particular one wasn’t. The inner copper cylinder has perforated probably due to the effects of Chlorine in the water. Tune into my next blog to see the finished result.
