Leaking Tempering Valve
This Tempering Valve had been slowly dripping away for some time.
A tempering valve has hot water which enters the top of the valve and cold water at the bottom. This blends the water to 50 degrees to prevent scolding. This is a recent change to NZBC, previously 55 degrees. As you can see in the picture the hot water crox connection has been leaking, leaving a trail of limescale. I mention in a lot of my posts about checking your HWC for leaks, as they generally stay hidden until you walk through a damp patch on the carpet.
