Safe Trays.

When installing or replacing a hot water cylinder it is now mandatory to install a safe tray.

The safe tray sits below the HWC and is designed to capture any leakage. The rules for a safe tray changed a few years ago due to the additional damaged caused by a leaking HWC, not being discovered in a timely manner. The safe tray has a discharge pipe that should be run to the outside of the building in a visible place. A vermin guard should be placed on the end of the discharge pipe to prevent unwanted guests.
