Shower Waste

As a maintenance plumber you see many things that get you scratching your head.

This shower waste was blocked. The customer tipped Drain O down to unblock it. This unfortunately did not work, so an alkali solution was tipped down. This had a chemical reaction which caused the trap to heat up and deform so badly the trap had to be cut out. Fortunately the damage wasn’t present on the cup, otherwise the whole shower enclosure would need to be taken out. Luckily the customer did not breath the fumes in.

I’m very wary of using acid to unblock drains. When the acid does not work the plumber not only has to unblock the drain, but also has to deal with the acid that’s been left in the pipe work. Any queries give me a call. Meeting your plumbing needs.
