Spouting Clean.

After looking up at my spouting and seeing a weed growing, I decided it was high time my spouting was cleaned.

Quite a lengthy process as I cleaned the facias soffits and windows at the same time. This kind of job is very time consuming but the result speaks for itself. Not having the build up of debris in the spouting can prolong the life of the product. The day to day build up over time can be quite a lot, from dust settling on the roof and bird droppings which are acidic, when it rains all of this ends up in your spouting. This causes moss and lichen to grow, as well as the stray weed seed that takes root. When the water pools it can cause the spouting to rust. I have replaced many spouting sections because of this. So whilst it is time consuming, it’s well worth doing. My next job is to fix up the seals that have started to lift on internal and external corners, also around the down pipe droppers.
