Low Pressure Hot Water Cylinder installation.

Low Pressure HWC installation

Last weeks blog was on a leaking hot water cylinder. This was the replacement.

The system is valve vented low pressure, providing around 75kPa on the hot water. Comparing to mains pressure at 500kPa. Because it is a sealed system it needs to have a relief drain for the expansion to be relieved preventing the system over pressurising. This is done via a cold water expansion valve, as a safety measure a temperature and pressure relief valve is also installed. Seismic restraints to NZBC G12 were installed. In this case a safe tray could not be installed as the cylinder is sat in the middle of the house on a concrete floor, with no way of running a waste pipe to the outside.

The end result was a neat and tidy installation and no leaks. Meeting your plumbing needs.
