Waste water pipes

This is an example of how not to carry out sanitary plumbing.

It was found behind the wall lining of a renovation I was asked to carry out. Above the junction is a 50x40mm reducing bush. Installed upside down onto the 40mm PVC pipe, with a 32mm PVC pipe from an upstairs basin. Then sealed into the bush with some kind of adhesive. Whilst this hadn’t leaked, it does not conform to New Zealand Building Standards. Had this have leaked, the likelihood is your home insurance cover would not cover the claim and rightly so.

If you have any renovations or projects you would like me to look at, give me a call. Meeting your plumbing needs.
